It’s been quite an ordinary week and also my bakings have been quite ordinary. The wildest thing I did was adding some sweet corn into my bread roll dough – so honestly, there ain’t that much to post about.
Originally I did want to post the recipe for Dallas-pullas, and I’m pretty sure I still will. The recipe that I have for those has been working splendidly in Finland, but tjah – here in Germany the products don’t just taste the same. I even sometimes think the sugar is different, since all my bakings taste so much sweeter than I’m used to – but I think I’ll blame that on my measurement cup.
Well, if the Finnish recipes don’t want to work here, I guess I have to start baking something out of German cuisine. And actually today I did bake something quite traditional for the Germans: a Sandkuchen, “sand cake” – nice and lemony to go with the season. Here’s a pic of it, to color up the post:
Should buy a proper mold for this kind of cakes, though. Something more decorative or then just a rectangular mold that I could use for bread loaves as well.
