So, finally been to and seen some real mountains. Now I understand Carlos not seeing our Finnish fells as such a big deal, him having lived half of his life in an area with even bigger hills than the ones we saw on our trip. And well, even this smaller one, Branderschrofen, which we conquered was 1879m whereas Halti, Finland’s biggest fell, is only 1324m.
But I must say that walking up the hills in the German Alps wasn’t quite the same as hiking in Finland. In Finland you get to travel in peace and quiet, but here there is a lift going up every peak. So, once you make it up there you’ll find quite many other tourists, too. Doesn’t feel like such a big accomplishment, when you could have done the same thing simply by paying 11,50€.
Oh, but I still quite enjoyed it. After all – they were quite some hills! And the weather was definitely on our side. So, let’s view some photos. Place your mouse over the pic, to see what it is about.
And what’s a bread blog without bread, ate some at a restaurant in Lindau. And brought some home with me, too. Wanted to actually find some more Bavarian bread, but instead we found just some bread. Quite basic.
And during our stay, we didn’t need to buy anything but coffee for me. The food lasted just perfectly, didn’t need to bring any back home either. So, get to bake new stuff now!
Oh – and why did we do this trip again? Actually it was my birthday present from Carlos. Loved it, just have to get over with the pain in my calf muscles.
Marika~
No äiti naputtelee suomeksi… on upeat maisemat, “postikorttimaiset”. Ja kun täällä tuntuu, että Korpilahtikin on niin mäkistä, ei sitten oikeasti ole :).
Olen jonkin verran leiponut herkkuja, viimeksi keikauskakun raparpereista. Aika raparperipainotteista leivontaa ollut :).
Happy belated birthday! Beautiful pics.
Thanks, it sure was pretty there. Quite huge mountains for me, but Carlos says Columbia offers some nice ones, too. Wish I could see them one day as well.
