Also, I did find cider – or actually Carlos found it for me. It looks more like wine though, and tastes a bit like one, too. Anyway, according to the seller it was cider. And it reads “cidre” on the bottle, too.
So, the cider we found tasted quite good, and the bread? Well, “Pain Normand” was perhaps a bit too sweet for me. Could have been the type of apples I used, maybe they ought to have been fully dried instead of the half-soft ones. Or I ought to have minced them better. Or then it just wasn’t a bread for me. I guess even I can’t love all of them.
But to compensate for that, I made one of my favorite breads. This “Multigrain bread” is nowadays almost as dear to me as Bread with Bubbles, and that says a lot. It has such a nice depth in flavor, and the structure is superb, too. It’s just splendid everyday bread.
So, that’s it for this week. Made also some quick bread with baking powder and baked a strawberry caramel cake for us and a rolled cake to take with us for some grilling party…
Next week hopefully making croissants, it’s been a while after all.
