I must say I do enjoy it, working the dough all night through. Baking begins at two o’clock and we finish around ten. I go there now five times a week, next month the school will take two, always having two random free days. It’s sometimes like being at a gym, lifting things up and running around (calmly), sometimes like being on a German lesson (probably university level) and sometimes it’s just so lovely listening to the radio making welmeisterbrötchen, schwarzbrot, baguettes, florentines, mandarinen sahnetorten and many others (I’m still on the process of learning all their names).
So far it’s been great, and it gets even better as I learn what happens next and can do more and more spontaneously. Starting to feel like home there, gets cozy. But hopefully not too cozy, gotta learn to be faster. Especially the washing machine takes an eternity and the confectionery products, too. Also, I still gotta work my German as well. Sometimes I understand the phrases two minutes after someone said something… and then I just feel baka. I count on it getting better, though, latest when the school starts.
Despite I really do enjoy the massive time I spend baking, I’ve been a bit tired lately. It’s been like working too very physical jobs for the time I’ve spend at home, we’ve been renovating. And little by little we are getting results, kitchen is well.. almost halfway there (I mean just the wall where the actual kitchen is). Finally we are getting to the state of buying an oven, too. Then I can just keep on doing my one job, baker at work and at home.
