Oh, tried making baguettes today. Didn’t work out so well. Everything went good up to the point when I was to place them into the oven. Then I realized that I had once again baked too long baguettes. Guess I’m so used to making that long ones at work that I never thought about not having the room for baking them. Had to squeeze them a bit together then – one got squeezed all the way back to a ball. Tjah, taste is ok, but structure is not so splendid this time. Gotta keep working on this project then.
I’ve had other projects, too. Made finally an eatable Charlotte with lemon and orange foam layers. Tried making one with melon and grapefruit before. That was bad, and it was a bad idea to begin with, me disliking the flavors of both melon and grapefruit. Tjah, but had to try baking with them now that I got a “free” chance. Workplace provided me with the fruits again, I mean.
School is starting this week for real. Already on Wednesday I’ll be studying both German and Politics with Germans. Will be interesting, hopefully they’ll be somehow connected to the world of baking. I was delighted to hear that our sports lessons are at least all about baking. We’ll be practicing how to carry heavy things correctly and such, the word football being forbidden. And the rest of the lessons are about studying different fields of baking, everything from tools to decorating and bacterias. Sounds nice, I can take that twice a week for sure.
